Thanks for your interest in preserving your flowers!
Here you'll find more information about the floral preservation process.
mailing & dropping off your flowers
If you're not local to NYC or don't have time to drop off flowers to the Greenpoint Studio, here's a blog I wrote about shipping flowers. (If you're more of a visual person there's a bunch of YouTube tutorials out there too!)
If you're able to drop off your flowers at the studio, hooray!
I'd love to meet you! Email to set up a time to drop off.
Whatever flowers & greenery from your wedding you can fit into the box, feel free to ship or bring with you to the studio! This helps to ensure that I have more than enough flowers to work with!
(The flowers from your bouquet tend to be the most damaged since they're out of water for so long.)
Before the pressing process can begin, please sign the Framed Florals Contract here.
composition & framing your flowers
Your flowers will be pressed for 4 to 6 weeks. Within the following month, I'll go through and see what looks best. I'll pick out the best looking stems, most interesting shapes, and a variety of sizes. I'll then send you photos of a variety of compositions and from there you can pick the wood frame. And you can decide if you'd like a large frame or collection of small frames, or mixture of both!
(So you don't have to worry about purchasing until that time.)
naturally dyed silk table runner / wall hanging
With the leftover wilted and bruised petals and blooms, I can use them to naturally dye a silk table runner / wall hanging.
If you'd like to add that onto your order you can let me know once I receive the flowers!
some things that are good to know...
Framed Florals only accepts a certain amount of commissions a week & month, to ensure you have a spot reserved please reach out 2 weeks prior. any inquiries after that time will be accepted on a case by case basis.
During summer wedding season, please allow an additional month for framing due to high volume. The entire process can take up to 3-4 months. A ton of care & detail goes into each frame!
We use whichever flowers and foliage come out of the presses looking their best. Certain flowers such as Calla lilies, white roses, lilies, lisianthus, white orchids, will not press well with our methods. Roses and other thicker flowers will not fit in our minimal thin frames. If your bouquet or sampling of flowers is mostly roses, bigger flowers, or any of the flowers previously listed, please reach out before sending them.
Framed Floral Frames that are properly cared for should last decades! Keep away from Direct sunlight, UV light, high humidity, and areas that fluctuate in temperatures often. (Dust and loose fragments of flowers and pollen may release off the flowers and onto the glass during change of temperatures and during shipping. Please know it will settle.)
Because the flowers and the process are natural and organic, please expect natural fading of color and browning over the years. Because we only naturally press the flowers in flower presses and do not chemically treat them, the change in color is organically expected and works well aesthetically. Know that the colors will continue to change. We at Framed Florals love how this reflects age and the passage of time, conveying that you weren’t married just yesterday.
if you do not follow shipping instructions, Framed Florals is not liable for expired or wilted flowers. By sending your flowers you agree to & accept this, and recognize only the usable flowers will be pressed.
